Executive Summary

This case study analyzes how Space4Women is working toward their mission to create gender equality in the fields of STEM and outer space. Established in the beginning of 2020, months before the pandemic, the United Nations (UN) project has had a jumpstart filled with adversity trying to connect girls and women from around the globe. Through programs and networking events Space4Women has brought together a community of inspired girls and women seeking roles in the fields of STEM and outer space.

Space4Women is evaluated in this case study on the organization’s culture and diffusion methodology and uses the Environmental Assessment, Change Logic Analysis, Scaling Analysis, and Impact Analysis to evaluate the organization. The findings concluded that through their excessive exposure inherited from the UN, the organization has been able to create programs accessible worldwide, network like-minded individuals, and encourage companies around the world to adopt equal opportunity standards. The organization has great potential to further scale their reach both scaling out and deep to build a great platform with a wide range of goals across career fields. There are some improvements needed to be made in order to scale and reach Space4Women’s desired results.

The case study concludes with recommendations for those needed improvements to increase their impact. The improvements will not only create transparency for the current members of the organization, but also may intrigue new stakeholders in the future. The recommendations are achievable to say the least and would greatly improve Space4Women’s impact and operations.
