Sharia Rulings and Their Limitations on Muslim Women

Sharia law has played a large role in Muslims’ lives for centuries. The word “Sharia” means “the right path” in Arabic. There are countries today built around the Qur’an and the laws that were believed to be sent from Allah himself. The “classic Sharia of the 10th century represented an important part of Islam's golden age” (Costly). Sharia has been reinterpreted ever since it was the 10th century.
